Hi guys,
Still running into website issues here. When I click on the insurance link on the patient forms page, I get this:What's going on? Niki
I double, and triple checked, the changes I made this morning have corrected this problem on my iMac and MacBook Pro.
To reiterate, when we had to point their old domain, huronobgyn.com, to huronobgyn.org, we only have access to their domain registrar, which is Register.com, but they have this crappy site, which doesn't work in Safari for me, myportalexpress.com.
The proper way to redirect is to setup a 301 redirect, which is normally done on a server, not a domain registrar. If setup incorrectly on a domain registrar, you get either a masked or duplicate domain, which means someone going to both URLs would see the same content. This is a huge negative for SEO, which we discuss during the onsite process.
The crappy site, myportalexpress.com, includes the ability to setup a 301 redirect 👍🏻, but I could find no documentation on how to do this correctly 👎🏻. I made the changes, and the www was redirecting fine, and the non-www was also redirecting in Safari and Firefox (my guess is they have some sort of better implementation of redirects than Chrome, rather than fail, it works), but Chrome and Opera both showed an error page.
After more fiddling, I was able to make the error you had above with the non-private connection warning show up for me too. I kept working and changing settings until I was able to fix the problem.
I tested before I posted, and am not seeing the same warning, the site is most likely cached, errors and all, so pleas clear your cache or restart your computer 😀
