RCCA is looking to create a brand new 4-page brochure for the RCCA doctors at the Hamilton Location which is located in the Robert Wood Johnson campus.
Currently, RCCA is not being marketed by RWJBH, They would like to propose their own brochure tactically prepared to promote RCCA in the Hamilton community with the theme of RCCA at Hamilton Cancer Center and using all the cancer center services to their advantage including the presence of radiation and surgical services. Other services include:
  • Nutrition
  • Genetic counseling
  • Social services
  • Palliative care
  • Holistic alternatives; art, music, massage, spiritual meditation,
  • Boutique and looking good
  • Cancer Rehabilitation
  • Physical fitness

  1. Objective: Promote the RCCA brand  and medical oncologist at the Hamilton Cancer Center RWJ, while being mindful of the RWJ brand but leveraging their services and reputation
  2. Goal: Build brand awareness
  3. Primary audience: For Physician referrals (however should also keep the patient in mind)

Before we get started on the copy itself I wanted to ask if you could please create an outline/questionnaire on the specific information you need from the client in order to write this brochure. This will also allow us to determine how many hours this could take and the estimated costs involved.

Let me know if you need anything else

At this stage, I have only questions. I need more info/answers before I can outline anything. Here are my questions:
  • Which doctors will we be promoting with this brochure?
  • How much coverage to those particular doctors?
  • What do referrers most need to know about these doctors?
  • Can we obtain the marketing materials for Hamilton Cancer Center?
  • Can we obtain the brand guidelines for RWJ so that we can be mindful of that brand?
  • What specifically would they like us to promote?
  • What do they mean by “promote RCCA in the Hamilton community”? How would this differ from promoting them in any other community (other than RWJMC, of course)?
  • What difference will we be promoting between Hamilton Cancer Center and RCCA’s doctors? What would be considered competitive with HCC?
  • To “leverage RCCA’s services,” which services at HCC at RWJ are RCCA’s and which are not? Are we leveraging both sets? If so, back to the competition question?
  • What, specifically, about the RCCA doctors at HCC do referring doctors need to know but presently do not? What is it that’s NOT in HCC’s own marketing?
  • Why did the client specify a four-page brochure? This suggests that they have some preconception about what to say and how much content. We need insight into these preconceptions/expectations.
I hope this will help get us enough key info to outline-up. Let me know if any questions, etc.

Not just an outline but determine based on his answers how much time it will take you to create this brochure. We are sending them an estimate and a bulk of the cost comes from your labor hours, which is why I wanted to do this exercise, make sense?
Greg Ashbaugh, Sr. Copywriter at Healthcare Success
Diana Pinedo, Account Supervisor at Healthcare Success Diana : Totally makes sense. Thanks.

Hi Greg Ashbaugh, Sr. Copywriter at Healthcare Success Greg ,

Can you please make this revision to the outline?

Please remove “oral cancer treatment” as it gives impression of treatment of oral cavity cancers instead of oral (pills) form of cancer treatment.

We (HS) asked this question for some more clarity:
Do you give an oral form of cancer treatment? If that is something you do, we can leave it in if you'd prefer, but just phrase it differently so there's not any confusion.

Client Response:
We do treat our patients with several oral cancer therapies.

Thank you!

This is done. "Oral cancer treatment" has been revised to "cancer treatment delivered orally (pill-form chemo)." Let me know if this is not okay. Otherwise, I'm assuming the sale and moving on to my Write Copy task.

Thanks!
